Broken Hill Boys Are Home
"The Pinnacles - Broken Hill" "Boys Are Home"

I am best described as a Contemporary Realist, whose works capture the Spirit of Life in the Australian Outback.  I was formally trained in Commercial Art & worked in Advertising & Graphic design for 18 years before going Bush in 1990 (living on a property near Cooma in the Snowy Mountains of NSW). I was actually returning to my roots, as I was born & spent my early childhood in the area, and this is where I was able to pursue my love for painting and drawing.  I have since had to return to live in Sydney, but my heart still lies in the country and every year I make numerous trips there, especially to areas around Cooma on the Monaro and outback Broken Hill.  I thrive in these vast, harsh, dry environments.  I find everything about life in the outback inspirational – the landscape, the people, the animals and birds down to everyday objects. It is my aim to spread this passion to others, through my work and I feel that I am achieving this, as I have won 12 “People’s Choice Awards” in recent years.

I love working in different mediums, especially Acrylics on canvas & handmade paper, Charcoal & Graphite, Gouache & Pastels.

I started exhibiting my work in 1996 in Regional Exhibitions (where I received numerous Awards and Commendations and Commissions), and in Sydney from 2000 onwards.

I am an Exhibiting Member of: The Royal Art Society of NSW, Ku-ring-gai Art Society & The North Shore Art Society.
