Maria’s training and career were in science until the needs of family became her top priority. In her science years she satisfied her subliminal need for visual arts and creativity with amateur photography, but longed for more exposure.
She took some adult education courses and workshops in different areas including cake decorating, picture framing, drawing and watercolour painting and the material she produced resulted in a body of works that allowed her entry into a TAFE Fine Arts Certificate. She has completed a Certificate IV and has progressed into a Diploma program in the same area. Maria is thoroughly enjoying explorations with varied media, including ceramics, digital media, drawing, painting and sculpture.
